The Confederation of British Industry retained Content First to produce a state-by-state analysis of the economic impact of British nvestment in the United States by employment, capital stock investment, and the level of exports from each state to the United Kingdom.

Sterling Assets: British Investment Creating U.S. Jobs, A U.S. and State-by-State Analysis, was released by the CBI's Washington, DC office in May 2008 to provide policymakers, the press, and the public with objective statistics on the importance of British investment to each state. The data, based on U.S. goverment statistics, showed that British-owned companies supported over 900,000 jobs in the United States, representing 18 percent of all jobs supported by foreign affiliates. Sterling Assets provides an overview of employment by all 50 states.
